I’ve had the pleasure to experience the three versions in which headquarters evolve: moving from a supporting team to a guidance team and a controlling team, based on how mature the companies are. Installing the right processes and guidelines together with international knowledge exchange and projects are crucial here.

NATIONAL / REGIONAL SPORTS & HEALTH BRANDS

I’ve worked at companies who manage one brand or have multiple brands presents. What was similar here is that the projects always start with a clear definition of the goal, we then search together where we can find the ‘low hanging fruit’ and this is usually followed by tool / process set-up and execution.

With so many different stakeholders involved, governments require a different way of working. Thoroughly preparing the future strategy, perform internal change management and keeping all parties involved are crucial to get results here.

What’s similar for these type of customers is that community building is always the key focus here. You need to select and activate your ambassadors, work with (local) influencers, and determine which activities, experiences or goodies you can provide which offer added value to your community members.

Tech companies are the playground for digital marketeers as myself. After a check whether the basics (pricing, product, target audience) are well defined, this is usually followed by automation and/or digital communication. Whether it is marketing, sales or customer service automation depends on the ambition of the company and its budget.

 
 

ASSOCIATIONS, FEDERATIONS, and ACCELERATORS

The most common objective here is to get more members joining and activating their community. The main challenges I received are how to set-up a communication plan, advice in optimizing or creating the website an defining the offer and target audience.

 
 
 

COACHES and ENTREPRENEURS

Start-ups usually need a hand in getting started with their communication: what’s the tone of voice, how should we structure the website, which communication channels should I use. For coaches this is complemented with the creation of a business case, pricing structure and target audience check.
